Three amateur radio operators and 14 shortwave listeners participated for eight months in this competition, which consisted of listening for SWL to and contacting as many DXCC entities as possible for the amateur radio operators.

Propagation was great because the solar cycle was at the maximum.

I had expected more participation from amateur radio operators, as I had advertised the contest extensively. Shortwave listeners (SWLs) are often more accustomed to listening to AM radio stations on shortwave and medium wave.
