Put a wire in your portable radio to listen to ShortWave 3 to 30 MHZ

You can put antenna ouside or insid your room

Wire can be 5 meters long, 10 meter this depend of the quality of your portable radio. 

On my Sony icf 7600 i use a 6 meter long outside.

On a Sangean ATS 909 a 10 or 15 meter can be ok because you can reduce the signal on the receiver.

Some cheap price radios made in China dont have a place to plug an external antenna, just put your wire on the telescopique antenna.

If you have a nice SW receiver you can make a cheap price dipole antenna

In the past i was in vacations in south of france with my LOWE HF-225

This receiver have a PL 255 female to plug your antenna.

The PL-259 is also known as a UHF connector with the common male/female variants. The male UHF PL259 is the most common connector used to interconnect equipment and antennas in ham shacks.

I have decided to make a long antenna !!!

I buy 30 meter of electician wire. 

i have already some 50 ohms coaxial cable but you can use also coaxial for TX 75 ohms

I havee aslo a " DOMINO " for electrician, 2 isolators and nylon rope.

Because this antenna is only for listining its is not difficult. I you buid an antenna for transmiting is mor difficult.

Cut your 30 meters wire in 2 parts. 

You can make your coaxial cable with 1 PL 259 or buy it for a low price. 

you need a Soldering iron

Then 

Then screw the two ends of wires into the electrician's domino

Nos put you isolators at the end of your wires and the nylon rope

Now you antenna is ready for DX !!!

You can put you antenna in slooper, horizontal or inverted V. 

Me anenna was only at 1 meter from the ground and i listen a Bangladesh lady amateur radio but i dont remember the band. 

So you can see its not realy difficult. be carefull when you use sodering iron.
