From May 27 to June 10, 2025, OMs from the F4KIS radio club in Lillers and the Pas-de-Calais department (F4HRD, F4JIS, F5PSI, F5TGW, and F4GWN) paid tribute to the "Patriotic Strike of 100,000 Miners of Nord-Pas-de-Calais" from May 27 to June 10, 1941, under Nazi occupation. Numerous contacts provided the opportunity for testimonies from descendants of these valiant "coal workers" who, in addition to the harshness of their profession, had to endure the inhumane working conditions imposed by the occupier, and then the fierce repression that fell upon many of them, particularly the "ringleaders." Nearly 600 were arrested, interrogated, tortured, and 270 miners were deported to the Sachsenhausen camp, where more than half died. Dozens of other strikers were forced into hiding, as miners from the region represented half of the 270 shot by the Germans at the Arras citadel. TM41GM generated 1,695 contacts, 1,395 different calls, and 68 DXCC entities were contacted.
