… updates from the Peter I Island expedition team …
Peter I Island is currently ranked 7th on ClubLog’s list of most wanted entities. "With a total budget of around US$1.95 million, we need to raise a significant amount—approximately $350,000—in donations to successfully carry out this expedition on schedule. The bulk of the budget is allocated to chartering the ship and two helicopters for transfers. We also face substantial costs, such as fees for expedition guides responsible for ensuring the safety of the camp setup. Camping on Peter I Island carries higher risks than at other locations; we have hired three glacier specialists. Furthermore, we are collaborating with EYOS, an organization that will provide an experienced expedition guide who visited Peter I Island just seven months ago. This organization has managed over 800 expeditions to Antarctica.
Our equipment is impressive, featuring several 3- to 5-element Yagi antennas for the high bands, Top Band Express antennas for 160m and 80m, high-power amplifiers, and Flex Aurora and ICOM radios; we are fully prepared to handle the pile-ups. With a location offering an optimal clear path in all key directions (the Americas, Europe, and most of Asia), this adventure promises to be thrilling. There is still one spot available for an additional operator, but the application deadline is fast approaching."

Nadia (OZ7AM) also holds several other call signs: AC2QW, 5P7Y, OU4X, OZ1FOX, VE6UY, and VE2OXA.
She has been passionate about electronics—and radio in particular—since a young age. She especially enjoys
CW contests, DXing, antenna design, and tube amplifiers. She has participated in numerous
contests with the OZ7A and OZ5W teams, as well as operating as OX7AM from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland.
She will be taking part in the CQ WW DX CW Contest on November 28–29. Holding a degree in electrical engineering,
she works professionally on radio systems dedicated to public safety (TETRA standard).
