October 2026 is expected to be one of the best autumn months of the current solar cycle. We remain in the period of heightened activity for Solar Cycle 25, even though the peak has likely already passed. Current forecasts from NASA and NOAA for autumn 2026 still indicate solar activity well above average and high F10.7 values. The 10, 12, and 15-meter bands should frequently be open, while the 20 and 40-meter bands will continue to serve as reliable DX bands. Only strong geomagnetic disturbances would be likely to cause significant, temporary degradation of conditions.
