Few news for the SWL CONTEST 2027

Dear SWL friends, You know, I would like to organize an SWL contest in 2027, the rules will be to listen to DXCC entities during the winter on low bands 40 to 160 meter and during the summer for high bands 10 to 20 meter. Also during the summer (but it is not an obligation) to listen to Islands on the Air (IOTA). Would you like to open this contest to other mods like CW, FT8, etc.?

Yes, 3 months in January, February, and March 2027. For the summer, July, August and September 2027

Remember, the goal of the SWL CONTES 2027 is to have fun. I know we will be only a few SWL to participate in this contest. Because many like only AM radio stations on MW and SW. If you have some idea for this 2027 contest, tell us what you like, please. Also, this contest will be open only to SWLs, but if you have an amateur radio call sign, you are welcome to participate as an SWL. Only awards, no sponsors in 2027. You can participate only in the winter part or only in the summer. You can participate in winter and summer and Islands on the Air (IOTA) if, like me, you love Islands on the Air! So there are 3 categories: winter contest, summer contest, and summer contest + IOTA.

An SWL on Facebook asked me if he can listen in CW to the winter and summer contests and listen to the IOTA in SSB.

Maybe some SWLs who never listen to amateur radio bands or don't have an SSB receiver will think it's too hard for me... No, it's not too hard. Me too. After many years of listening to AM radio on MW and SW, I started listening to HAM bands, and I was really surprised because there was a lot of activity and DXCC entities. I confirmed by paper QSL cards 250 DXCC and 330 IOTA; no computer or cluster in the 90s!. I receive many nice QSL cards. So if you don't have an SSB radio receiver, you can use a Web SDR or KIWI SDR. But keep the same SDR during all the contests. Why cheating? You do this for yourself. Nothing to win except an AWARD!
